Responding to the crises caused by COVID, BRAVE Communities launched a Community Nourishment program in early 2021.

BRAVE provided contactless distribution of resources (ie: prepared meals, meal kits, toiletries, and PPE supplies) to support Black and Brown communities that are disproportionately affected by the pandemic and food insecurity. We partnered with several organizations to feed the vulnerable population, including the unhoused, foster care youth, and refugee populations. The 2020/21 BRAVE Ambassadors learned from subject matter experts, researched, and shared information through social media about food injustices on a local, state, national, and global level. On a monthly average, our digital engagement reaches over 2,440 accounts on our Instagram posts and our Facebook posts reach 5,850 viewers. We currently provide 500+ meals per month. The program provides more than 500 meals per month.
